Dr. Larry Otten grew up in the Puget Sound region graduating years ago from Sammamish High School, Pre-Med courses were taken at the University of Washington, and he received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern College of Optometry, Memphis, Tennessee in 1977.
Dr. Otten started the Queen Anne Optometry Clinic in 1978, and moved to the Redmond Eye Clinic in 2001. During his career, Dr. Otten spent time at Group Health Cooperative of Puget Sound and in specialty eye care clinics affiliated with Swedish Hospital. He retired from his primary Redmond practice in 2013.
In "semi-retirement" he now spends time in the mission field providing eye care throughout the world, and now finds several days per week practicing optometry at Ahrens Valley Eyeworks here in Monroe. Dr. Otten currently serves on the Board for Volunteers Optometric Services for Humanity, Northwest, and serves on the Board of Trustees for the Southern College of Optometry.
For fun Dr. Otten has enjoyed piloting Cessnas, boating and sailing, fly fishing, and biking.
He is married to his high school girl friend, Sally. They have 3 adult children and two grandsons.
